Ghost

i walk into the dark forest
behd my house.
like i do every night.
but tonight scares me.
i don't know why.

then i hear noises
very scary noises.
i keep looking
and i just see shadows
in the moonlight.

I run faster.
then i see a ghost.
white as a sheet.
tall
anorexic.
dead looking.

have i been drinking?
i must lay off.

i want to run but
i am paralyzed with fear.
the ghost keeps screaming:
"help me."

then i get the balls
to run so more.
i run until i am on the street.
standing under the street light
i hear the tortured screams.

i keep running
until i am standing
at the front door of
my house.

out of breathe
i get into the shower
to get the sweat off.
then i get into bed
but i can't sleep.
having nightmares of the ghost.
how scary is that?
