part 1
reiko tokuawa was
the first and youngest
female shogun to rule japan.
well versed in the martial arts
tall
beautiful
long black hair
painted up beautifully
like a china doll.
she was the
most powerful woman in japan.
part 2
setsuska goro
a short and simple girl
with a beautiful face
that does not need to be painted.
silky brown hair
tied up in a pony tail.
when growing up
setsuska
lived in a poor family
and was forced to
sell her body.
one night
while drunk
setsuska was attacked
by a villianous man.
it is at this time
that setsuska took it upon herself
to learn sword play.
one day
setsuska the ronin
was a ball of fury
in a fight
and was noticed by the shogun herself.
part 3
that day
reiko noticed the young fighter
and recruited her into her arm.
" such rebellious fire
and fury,"
reiko thought.
reiko
decided to personally
hone setsuska's skills as a swordsman.
reiko's advisors did not like this.
thus they told her to give up on
the young woman.
reiko, being the same age
18
concocted a plan:
she was going to help setsuska
with her training
in the castle garden
at night.
part 4
for every night
reiko helped the young Setsuska Goro
with training in the martial arts.
practically teaching her.
then one night
when the moon was full
everything in the garden was lit up.
it was at this moment
when practicing swordplay
that reiko tokugawa
and
Setsuska Goro
noticed eachother's beauty.
this is when they fell in love.
when they were done practicing
reiko and setsuska
gentally kissed
in the castle garden.
knowing that their love was kinjiru
they hid their relationship
from everyone.
within months
the two young women
had to go separate ways:
reiko continued to rule japan
and
setsuska began teaching swordplay
to others.
however... they both continued to see eachother
in the castle garden
where they would kiss
until the moon was high
in the nightsky.
they thought their love will
conguer all.
how wrong they were.
Part 5
a year after
their fateful meeting
a woman
noticed two women samurai
kissing in an alley
behind a gambling den.
the woman recognised reiko.
reiko not being able to explain
looked at the angry woman
and setsuska who was crying.
a steady stream of tears
followed from setsuska's eyes
as she was running
out the alley.
reiko never saw setsuska again.
Part 6
within a few days
after the incident in the alley
reiko did not see
or hear from setsuska.
worried reiko
had her men to find out
where setsuska lived.
whe they found out
they took reiko there.
setsuska lived in a shack
behind another gambling den.
the place was a pathetic sight.
when reiko walked in
she was greeted by the metalic smell of blood.
reiko found setsuska lying
lying on the ground
in a pool of her own blood.
when leaving
reiko found a letter
a letter by setsuska.
it was a suicide note.
usually samurai write a death poem
before committing sepukku.
"my beloved reiko
how i love thee
my lady i cannot bear the shame
the shame of being a shameful secret
i love thee too much
too much to meet thou at night
or in an alley behind a gambling den.
i cry as i write knowing
knowing that i will commit sepukku
out of love.
fare well my love and my lady."
when reading this letter
reiko noticed darker dots on the paper.
tear drops.
when realized this
she was crying.
sobbing.
Part 7
after the funreal
reiko scatter setsuska's ashes
all over the castle garden
where they first kissed.
this is when reiko decided
to commit sepukku.
she was already
to commit suicide
when one of her retainers ran in to stop her.
he took the wakazashi from her
and held her tight
withinhis arms.
while reiko was being held
she cried
cried until she felt better.
the reiko decided
to move on.
tis hard
but she will manage... somehow
